HD 22" wheels what to do?

What is the biggest tire to fit my 22" on a stock ride truck? Am i better off getting new rims and tires, although i like and am trying to stay with my HD theme and wheels are part of that?
I have a 2006 HD edition FORD F150. Of course we all know it has 22 inch wheels which was nice at first. But i soon realized that i true truckin guy like me i want to run over curbs and be able to go where i please. So the low profile tires arent cutting it for me as i am starting to "curb" my rims backing into random parking spots. Besided becoming a better parker i thought with so much room in my wheel well to add a bigger tire but i dont know a good size and if it will help clear my rims from the curb. THANKS

I have a '08 Limited and I'm basically in the same boat as you. I want a more capable wheel and tire set-up for winter and off-roading during hunting season, without adding any lift. However, I love my stock wheels and Pirelli assemetrico's so I'm keeping these on for the best part of the year.
I just bought some stock 20" wheels and tires. I hope to sell the stock tires and put on some Cooper Zeons in either 285 or 305/55-20. What I've gathered, from some seaches here, is that these tires should fit okay and have enough rubber to protect the rim.
