What tire is better?

The kuhmo road venture mt kl71, hankook dynapro mt, or the toyo open country mt? i will be 90% on road so im looking for a tire that has a good pavement ride and that will last a long time. Oh and the size i am looking at is 37x13.5x20 if that makes a difference

the toyo open country mt is the way to go. they are one of the most popular mt tires out right now, and the bigger price is way worth it. they are also very quiet on the road and non-bumpy. my best friend has a set of 35's and he loves them!

very happy with my hankooks. Great tire IMO, quiet for an mt, hook up nicely in the rain, and 45k miles and counting......

all three are good tires. The Toyos are gonna last you the longest. The biggest problem with the Toyos is that they are very hard compound so they dont clean very well and dont conform very well to offroad situations.

When a 35" tire is used with a 20"+ wheel your offroad performance is going to absolutely suck. This combo doesnt give you very much side wall and makes the remaining sidewall very stiff, add that to a tire with a hard rubber compound and you will get a tire with 0 flexibility!

Now in all honesty with a 35 20 combo theres not tire going to help you offroad so id recomend just getting the Toyos they will last the longest for a highway queen!

All three tires are great choices, but the Toyos are the best of the three.

I haven't tried all three, so I can't say which of the three are the best. I can say, however, that I am quite happy with the Toyo M/T's that are on the truck right now. They are very quiet on the pavement. If you can find a good deal on them, I say get the Toyos. My 37's were $325/each shipped.

Current Prices
unsertire.com - 445
1010tires.com - 429
treadepot.com - 428
wheelsforless.com - 414

On a side note - check out these wheels. I haven't seen them before.

It wont help much, but would be better then 35" tires.

I agree, the 20" rim will hurt, and the super stiff compound of the Toyo will hurt off road performance BUT they will last a heck of a lot longer then MY m/t's and will save you money in the long run. They are also a whole lot quieter then the traditional softer m/t .

Really depends on YOU. Some people prefer the look of a 20" rim.... and I have seen a couple rigs, running 37" tires on 20" rims perform pretty good off-road going through stuff none of us would submit. Although not on Toyo's he did really good.

Comes down to preference. You not going to be doing anything extreme off road wise, so a 20" rim would work for you. Your going to pay more upfront for rims and be paying more for tires, but if its in your budget and its what you want, go for it. I personally run 18" rims on my 35" tires and really dig the look, but thats just my 2 cents !

I agree with mercedes on the 18" rim look. Personal preference though.

I got my 37x13.5x18 toyo's for a decent price locally through the shop that did my lift, they beat the price I found online. May not hurt to price the toyo's locally before you go and buy them online.
