Tire Replacement Programs?

Tire Replacement Programs?
This morning I was greeted with a flat tire! 
(4,400 miles on my truck!)
I manage the grounds for my subdivision, and last night was driving around the edge of a ten acre field counting survey stakes so I can order fence posts. It wasn't too muddy, and the weeds havn't grown up yet, so it was easy to see the ground. It was fun! Well I must have hit something big because I had a four inch slash in the sidewall! It took all night for the air to leak out. RATS!
So after refilling the tire at home, I head for Discount Tire. They replace the trashed tire, AND as part of the sale offer their "Free Tire Replacement" program on ALL FOUR of my tires. ($20 per tire) Under the program, I wreck another tire, they replace it. Sounds like a good deal to me! I have certainly ruined my fair share of tires over the years! All of them ruined off road.
I'm curious how well these types of programs have worked for other members here. Have you bought this type of protection? Have you used it?
I know I won't stop driving off road, so I figure I'll get my money's worth!
