Hey guys, just got my bigger tires put on yesterday and looks great but I noticed that the fuel gage goes down a lot quicker than normal. I know that by getting bigger tires that I am going to loose MPG but i was curious to see if anyone knows how to improve it. New Exhaust? need help please

First what size tires did you get?

Second The distance it says on your trip is slightly off because the tires have a bigger diameter thus not turning as many times in a mile.

Third The gas can be improved with Tuners, Intakes, Exhaust, and most importantly GEARS.

Tell use the tire size first though!

Ok well id do the simple bolt-ons first

1. Headers
2. Exhaust
3. Intake
4. Programmer (xcal 3)

Now the biggest bang for the $$$ would be
1. Gears 4.10-4.30

SIDE NOTE: If you plan on getting a lift and bigger tires in the future then dont get the gears till you do that it cost 1500-2000 to do.

If you plan on keeping it like this then go with 4.10-4.30's

Any taller and heavier tire will cause you to lose mpg's especialy in stop and go driving. A programmer will help out a little by letting you adjust shift point's and let you reset your speedometer. Driving a little slower alway's help's out.

That helped me out so much its not even right! Accelerate slow and stay in the 55-60 range and you will get good mileage.

I recently got bigger tires too, MPG dropped quite a bit. Got a Magnaflow exhaust and AF1 and it's almost back to normal. I figured out my tires were 3% bigger so I add that to my trip odometer when I fill up. Of course, I HAVE to drive conservative to get that gain and it's hard to do.
