Wheel Spacers
Wheel Spacers
Can anyone provide any advice on wheel spacers?
My set-up is a 2004 FX4 4X4 with stock 18 X 7.5 wheels with 325/60 Nitto Terra Grappler tires. I have the slightest of rubbing happening at full lock. I have found 1/8 inch wheel spacers and thought that may help. I have generally heard spacers are not the greatest idea but I also think that 1/8 inch isn't very much and may be all the help that I need. What do you guys think?

Thanks wandell and joshmac for your replies.
If the wheel spacers do have some vibrations, do you see any problems with running without them? There isn't much clearing even when wheels are straight. Just curious about cornering and other normal driving conditions that make tires "flex" and may cause rubbing while driving and not just at full lock. Thanks again for your advice!

Well, I ended up using 1/4 inch wheel spacers to make room for a set of Nitto Terra Grapler 325/60 18 on a stock wheel. Put them on myself and everything works great. Bolts were plenty long enough and the spacers do not allow any rubbing at all!
Has anyone known of problems with using 1.50" spacers on the rear wheels to compensate for the difference when using lift spindles that push the front wheels out?

I just put my new wheels and tires on my truck over the weekend. I only have about 1/2" to 3/4" from hitting on the insides. Does anyone think this lack of clearance may cause problems while off roading?
Where did you all buy you 1/4" spacers from?
Thanks.
