Well, I agree. But from your recent experiences you see that some companies will lie about what they sell.

almost 49,000 miles. my dad works at the dealer doing only front ends, and my boyfriend was talking to him about that. he would not stop talking about it on easter.

my dad said he still has not seen but a few come in with bad ball joints on the 2004 and up f150 trucks.

i would take it to sears, discout tire, anyone who could get it right, but im out of money. i got so much money wrapped up in getting screwed out of 500 bucks by 4wheelonline, plus some other expenses. 4 wheelparts should keep rebalancing till they get it right, right?

I'm being serious.. you can tell by the characteristics of the tire

If you examine your tire, you're going to have grooves, nibbles, and other small characteristics.

By following around the tire carefully, you can find a place that those characteristics cannot be found, for example the place could be smooth.

I'll take a picture tommorrow of the thread hop on my dodge so you can see what i'm saying.

My boss would laugh at you too. Heck he'd probably tell you to get out of our shop if you won't let me balance them my way

I've got some good stories to go with this stuff, but that's for another time!

Texasgirl, is there another 4wheelparts branch you could take them to? maybe trying a different one might get you a better answer.

If not, ask around and find a good private tire shop.

If you were in MD i would take care of it for you!

thanks, its so frustrating. this is the only one. there is another in austin i think but thats over an hour away. its 4wheel parts, this is all they do. its not like im asking a flower shop to balance them and get it right. all they sell and do is lifts and tires. i drive alot, so i cant just ignore this either.

I've caught this thread kind of late, but I have blemished 40 x 13.50R18 MT Baja Claws that I bought from Jordan Tires in Ohio. They were mounted and balanced when I received them and once I hit the road I experienced the same wobble that you are talking about to include the bed shaking like crazy. Well it turned out the tires weren't balanced correctly the had 1/4 oz stick on weights and they needed 1 oz stick on weights in order to be balanced. The tires and wheels needed to be balanced on a tire balancing machine that is specifically made for big tires, if not the tires will seem to be balanced but when they hit the road there not. I was lucky to find an off road shop nearby that had that machine and got mine balanced and now they ride great. Before I got my tires balanced I had my gears installed at 4wheelparts in Tennessee the technician told me all my wobbling came from the tires not being balanced properly when he took my truck on a test drive. That's how I found out my problem came from my tires. they said they don't really have a machine that could balance big tires, although this struck me as being kind of weird since they sell tires up to a 52" mounted and balanced. well that's my experience. Hope this helps.

thanks, that helps too. it gives me hope. this leaves 2 options that are not for sure yet:
1. the tires have not yet been proven to be out of round.

2. both times ive been balanced they have put sticky weights. no clip ons. my boyfriend mentioned those other clip on weights too.

so here is the next question: i have monster wheels. 20x10s. can those clip on weights be used on them?

In my experience I never seen clip on's on 20 X 10 wheels, but it doesn't mean it can't done. Have them try the clip ons if they can intall them and then try them out and if they don't work have them switch out tires, let them know you've tried everything except changing tires out. It will come to a point where they will use up all there options and will have to change out tires. Good luck.

You can probaly use clip on on the back lip and stickson to balance the front.

The only thing about clip ons is if they need a lot of weight, sometimes is better just to use stickons

Quite honestly it shouldn't make that much, if any of a difference

Right, and you shouldn't need a lot of weight if you have the tire spun first, and find the sweet spot. Clip on weights are one less thing you can throw off the wheel. Use them on the inside.

One last thing..

If all else fails, try having balancing powder put in your tires

It's similar to Dyna beads, but it doesn't eat up your tire like dynabead

try rotating the tires and see what happens

I'm in southern maryland

generally, if the whole truck shakes it's the back tires. If just the steering wheel shakes it's the front.
