That would be my first troubleshooting step. Swap the tires front to back and see if the vibration seems to change. Maybe you have a tire that is out of round.

I would rebalance the driveshaft. Dont you have to edit the splines on the driveshaft and rebalance it with fabtech kits?

That procedure is for the front driveshaft - which would only cause a vibration when in 4x4 mode. In 4x2 the front driveshaft doesn't turn, so it won't create a vibration. The rear driveshaft does not need to be re-balanced on a 6" kit.

I had to have a set of BGFs shaved.
I had a constant vibration and the shop i bought them from rebalanced them about 4 times. I took it to a place in Tenn. and they shaved what looked like a ton of rubber off the tread, but it was barely any. That solved my vibration issues. 3 of the 4 tires were out of round.

Assuming that you had driven 60 mph with the stock wheels, if only the tires changed, then it must be the tires, right?

I would take JD790's advice and put the stockers back on, in their original locations.

Good luck and follow-up with results. My 33" STTs are going on next weekend so I'm extra-interested in how this turns out

im surprised no one has mentioned this, you might want to look at fabtechs steering stablizers. theres one member on here who has them and i cant think of who it is.

i drove it with the stockers on there. drove over 70 with them on. i drove around town almost 2 days before i got my wheels and tires on. all this wobbleing happened after the new wheels and tires.

so balancing a tire---wont the machinge tell you some how that the tire is out of round. i dont know how those things work,
but how does a tire roll out of the shop if the balancing machinge says its balanced but its really not?

Maybe it WAS balanced when it came of the machine...

Sticky weights fly off if they're not properly applied. You could have thrown a bunch just driving away from the shop and they wouldn't leave any residue if they didn't stick well in the first place.

I had my STTs balanced where I bought them. They used all sticky weights. I trusted them. They do this all the time, right? I didn't mount the tires because I've been waiting for the weather to break, so I just parked them in my garage. Two weeks later and the weights are falling off JUST SITTING THERE! I didn't bother taking them back to that shop...

I took them to Sears and asked that they balance the TIRE first: mount-balance-spin-repeat. He did that four times with each tire and picked the position that was the least out-of-balance before adding any weight. I told him I wanted lead weights on the inside lip and stickies only on the inside of the wheel, towards the mounting surface. This is a TON of work and it took him three hours. He was a "4X4" guy, so I got lucky, and Sears has a lifetime warranty on balancing, so it's really in their best interest to get it right the first time. I'll find out in about a week if they did, but I can't get any of the new stickies to budge.

Sorry for the long post, but I thought my experience might help you.

If a tire is out of round a balance machine will just tell you to stick a weight on the opposite side of the defect to balance it out. Unfortunately I don't think it checks if the tire is out of round except for weight.

You try swappin the fronts and backs to see what happened?

051fdrof---no dont worry, im taking every drop of advice, no matter how long the post.

duece212--we tried that oringinally when 2 of the tires had lots of weights. we moved those with more weights to the back. but since i got the second balacne only 1 tire has alot of weights and its in the rear. i have not done the swap since. they are directional so the only swapping is front to rear. think i still should?

you would think 4wp would be the same as sears. they are way to busy for return customers with this issue. i dont have lifetime balance but i figure i got 30 days on the balance 4wp gave me. ill go back once a week if i have to.

fx4texasgirl, if I remember correctly didn't you get some kinda of blemished tirees or slightly blemed tires? I'm not positive on what you went with but I thought I remebered seeing a thread about this, but i have been known to have a bad memory. If this IS the case then I would assume it's the tires and not the balancing issue.

I would laugh in your face if you told me to do that. They only reason i would spin the tire is if it takes more weight than i feel comfortable with.

By the way, a good tire tech can tell if a tire is out of round by watching it spin. It'll have a little bit of a hop. I can pinpoint exactly where it is out of round just by feel

I don't need that roadforce junk!

Poop, if you did that swap before and it didn't move or change where the vibration/wobble seems to be coming from I don't think it would do anything to swap them again.

Out of curiousity how many miles are on your truck? Maybe the added weight/diameter of the new tires is showing an existing problem with the truck that was there before, but just wasn't noticed. Just brainstorming here.
