275/70/18 ?

I have an 04 FX4. I am about to install a 2" AS leveling kit on it. I'm currently running the stock 18" rims and tires. I'm going to go up in tire size and I see a lot of people on here recommending the 285/65/18. According to some tire size websites the 275/70/18 is slightly bigger and I was wondering if it will fit and why its not as highly recommended as the 285/65/18.

I'm looking at these tires to purchase : Nitto TG , Cooper S/T , Goodyear Wrangler Silent armor and possibly the BFG A/T's . I can get the gooodyears for $688 which seems like a good price but i've had some bad experiences w/ goodyears and not getting over 30k miles.

Any help will be greatly appreciated guys...

They will fit. The 275/70-18 is an uncommon size and most people prefer a wider tire.

That size tire comes stock on F-250's with the 18s. I had a chance to get some new take offs for a set of lightning wheels im looking to get but they will not be wide enough(9.5").
