Hello

CJ saying hello from Houston...

I just picked up a 2002 F150 SuperCab with only 46,000 miles on her. I couldn't resist.

So far, the only thing I having a problem with is the small tires that came on it. I want to switch to a 20" rim and from what I've read on this board, the 305-55-20 looks pretty good. I don't particularly like that big rim, small rubber look I see on some trucks. The picks on this site with the 305-55-20's seem to look just right.

Also, is there anything else, I will need? Will I need to level out the truck adding that size of tire? It's got that tail-in-the air stance or will they fit with no problem and I can adjust the stance later? Thanks in advance for any replies and guidance.

Sorry, thought I advised. It's a 4x2 with a 4x4 sticker. LOL I guess the previous owner thought that might increase the traction.

Are you wanting to continue with the offroad look? If you are, I'd install a set of Daystar coilspring spacers up front to level the truck and give you some added clearance. A 305/55-20 is basically a 33x12.50 tire and will look pretty stuffed on a stock 4x2.

That's why I'm here for the knowledge on this board. Thanks.

I want the off road look without breaking the bank. School me on whether or not this is "easily possible" with a 4x2?

I'd add a 3 inch Performance Accessories body lift and a set of Daystar coilspring spacers and then add a set of 33 inch tires on some 16 or 18 inch wheels personally. You can get a PA body lift for less than $200 and a set of Daystar spacers for less than $100. This will put you at just about the same height as a stock 4x4.

Sounds good and pretty simple. Thanks. I'm not looking for something I have to use a rope to get into and have to toss my wife and kids in. (YET, maybe on my next actual 4x4 truck)
