Couple of Questions

Ok, so I have a 2000 4x4. I was planning on getting a 3" BL and throwing some 35x12.50R16 BFG AT's on it. I know that theres going to be some rub on the valence, which can be fixed with a trim. I do have a few questions about the setup though:

1. Will be rub anywhere else, like on the frame?

2. Will this affect my gas mileage, and if so, by how much?

3. Will the truck need to be geared down?

4. I just got a new exhaust system, and I was wondering if it would make the tips look odd, being so low.

Mine only rubbed the valance. I have a 5.4, 3.55 gears and average 13mpg city/highway. Whether or not you "have to" regear will depend on your powertrain. I think I'm pushing the limit. If I had a smaller engine or taller gears, I would have stuck with 33's.

Well I have a 5.4, but I dont know my gear ratio. It came with the tow package, but I dont know if it has lower gears in it. Did your gas mileage get any worse after the lift though? I always thought getting a BL would add a lot of wind drag.

You probably have 3.55 gears. You can run 35's without regearing if you don't tow/haul a lot of heavy loads. As for my milage, I can't tell you. You see, I went from an oem 30 inch tire to 33 inch BFG's within a couple of days of purchasing my truck new and never corrected my speedometer. A lot of people move to a taller tire without correcting there speedo and then freak the first time they calculate there MPG's, not remembering there odometer is also off (therefore throwing off MPG calculations because the truck is traveling more miles than the odometer shows). I purchased a Superchips tuner and corrected my speedo/odometer only days before I went to 35's so I didn't have a chance to get any accurate MPG figures with the 33's.
