Lift Kit But Undecisive on Tires
I have a 2004 FX4 and am thinking of going with a 3" body and 2" level kit. I was thinking of 325 x 65 x 18 Cooper STT's or BF's. Should I go bigger? Any suggestions?
First off don't get a body lift..you just wanting to do this because its cheap??, just go with a Fabtech 6" or if you don't want to go that high just put a Rancho 4" kit on. Shoot just put your level kit on and put 35's on anyway with stock rims .. Go with BF's KM2 35" my friend has them on his chevy and they rip!!

You can fit alot of 35x12.5R18 tires with just a 2.5" level kit....the only problem which isn't a real big problem is if the tire has big lugs they may or may not rub on the up A arm at full lock........it all depends on what tire your going to be getting....305x65r18 would be alright they're 33.6" but it all depends on what type of tire you want...Here is a calculator that will give you overall size of tires you just got to put in the specs....http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
Ok good. If I go with a 2inch level kit, will I be able to run 35x12.5x18 BFG KM2's? The only thing about a 2 1/2 inch level is that I dont want that high look in the front. I really like the KM's but if the 2 inch level wont be enough then I will go a different route. Thanks again!

theres nothing wrong with a body lift...as long as u get the bumper lift and gap guards and make sure someone who installs it knows what their doing you will be fine and wont be able to tell its a bl...i would get 18" rims

This way you'll sit anywhere between a 1/2 an inch to an inch taller in the rear. I have the same set-up on my truck and sit about 3/4 of an inch taller in the rear.
