quick backspacing/offset question. .

My lift goes on in a week and ive been looking at fender flares, I bout the street scenes but ended up not liking them. Some of you may have seen the thread goin in the 04+ forum. My question pertains to the wheels I bought, I know very little about the design of wheels so im hoping yall can help me. here is the specs on my Icubus Brawn wheels:

Incubus Brawn
P#--714 200 653
Wheel size--20 x 10
Lug--6 x 135
Center Bore--87
Offset-- -28
Backspacing--4.40"

How far are they going to stick out? My search on backspacing yeilded little results on how to interpret it.
Should I expect any rubbing issues? I just want to know so I can take care of them before the 6 hour drive back from the lift shop.

Thanks all

If my calcs are correct, they'll stick out about 3.5" further than your stock FX4 rims.

Any pics by chance? i just dont want the tires to be "inside" the fender flares if that makes any sense at all, id like them to stick out a bit.

The factory wheels are 7.5" wide with a 5.5 inch backspace. which from center means that 5.5 inches of the rim are inside the wheel well and 2" are out.

A 9" wide wheel with a 5.5 backspace will have 5.5 inside the wheel well and 3.5 inches sticking out. In this case they will be 1.5 inches wider than your original factory wheel.

A 10" wide wheel with a 4.50 backspace means that 4.5" will be inside the fenders and the other 5.5 will stick out. In this case 5.5 - 2" from original wheel is 3.5" extra that this particular wheel will stick out.

At least that is how I figure it out. And I suck at math. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong or if there is an easier way. thanks:o

Not at all sir, that's what these boards are for...

Well, if your new wheels are 10" and stockers and 7.5"....there's 2.5" difference right there.

Your stock backspacing is 5.5" and the new wheel has 4.5" backspacing which is a 1" difference.

2.5" + 1" gives you 3.5"

Hope that makes sense :o

Check this out too (it is a little confusing):

I knew it had to be simple, thanks for explaining it for me guys. Now ill never forget that one, cause I plan on lifting the next truck (PSD) too, but thats way down the road! Thanks guys!

so if the bushwacker pockets add 2" of coverage, ill be 1.5" outside them, that should look alright? what do yall think?
