325/60/20 on 20 inch oem rims

This is my 2nd post I put the 1st in the oem section, my bad. I know this has been discussed alot on this forum and I have done the searches and read the threads by Nebraska and 07screw. Nebraska has the BFG AT's and has some rubbing at full turn. 07screw has the K2's and has rubbing also but says there will be a problem if he goes off-road. My question is if I get an All-terrain tire instead of a mud tire will I have this issue also if I go off-road. Correct me if I am wrong but isn't rubbing caused by the width of the tire and not the diameter? According to Nitto's web-site the specs on the 325 are 35.12 height by 12.91 inches wide. The 305 is 33.07 by 12.6 wide. I have a 07 FX4 screw with 20 inch oem rims and a 2 inch front end leveling kit. I'm wanting the 325 because it fills the wheel well better but if there will be problems I will just go with the 305. One other thing I want to keep the rims and not lift or modify my truck anymore than the leveling kit and no spacers. Can I run these tires without tearing anything up and if I have to trim, what and how do you do that.Thanks.

go with either the 285/65/20= a hair under 35"
or with the 325/60/20= a hair over 35"

either tire in the 325/60/20 a/t or m/t will rub while offroading its just to big of a tire when your wheels are turned and your truck is flexing they are 100% gonna be rubbing
with that being said even a 305/55/20 will rub at full turn not really that big of a deal
if you plan on doing alot of offroading I would recommend the 285/65/20
if your just going to off road a little nothing to serious and pay attention to what your putting your truck into you will be fine

Consider yourself corrected. Rubbing is caused by the tire coming into contact with body / frame / suspension components, too wide, or too tall of a tire will rub. The 325/60R20s just sound too big for a leveling kit with stock rims.

I am no expert on 20s and wouldn't have them unless I had no other choice as I want more sidewall than 20" rims offer for any given tire diameter. BUT... section width, off road 285s / vs 325s will be a bit of a difference, and you will notice a little bit of a a performance improvement / better bite from the wider width.

You might consider stepping down to a 305.
