need new tires and can't decide, help!

First timer here. I have a 2002 F150 4x4 ext.cab FX4 and currently am still running the stock 265/70/17 on the stock rims (i think 17 x 7.5). I am really looking at the nitto terra grapplers in a 295/70/17 and was hoping that it was possible for those tires on my 17" rims. I am going to turn the torsion keys or put on a leveling kit if needed, but which lift would be the best? or if any at all? thank you and I really appreciate any help. pleasure to be part of this site, its a great place.

Leveling kits for 4x4 in the year range on 97-03 are just aftermarket torsion keys aka junk. Crank your oem keys and level it out while keepiong pretty good angles. You will fit them.

thanks Keith, also, is there a step by step post on how to crank keys and keep everything level while doing so? I'm not too familiar with them and have never done such before. And also, those tires will fit on my rims, correct? thanks again.

yeah man that is a great size for a leveled out 4x4, do it man, I think I am gonna go up to 305's next time but 295's are a great size.

as far as cranking up the t-bars, you are gonna need an alignment after you do it, in my case I just had the same place that did my alignment crank them up for me and they charged me like $10.
