Tire size help!!!
Okay I've got a 1998 4wd Lariat, no lift. I think I've settled on a set of 17" Md Motoring Razor rims... now for the lurking questions.
Lets start with rim width. I've found 17x8.5 and 17x10's. 10's are going to stick out a little, not a huge issue for me. Is one better than the other?
Tires. I'm torn between the Mickey Thompsons and the bfg AT k/o's. I'm on road more than off and I'm leaning towards bfg's. What size though?!? Is rim width going to make a huge difference? Can the 285/75/16 fit on the 17x8.5 rim? Will this clear on stock height at full lock? I'm lost!! Thanks in advance for the help! Joe.
I'm also open to suggestions. I'm just looking to beef up the look of the truck with out going into lifts, ect. I have considered twisting the torsion bar a little though...

Personally, I think the 10 inch wide wheels will look better. A 285/70-17 (33x11.50) or 305/65-17 (33x12,50) will fit on an 8 or 10 inch wide wheel. With a 10 inch wide wheel (with 4.5 inches of backspacing) you will have to trim a little plastic off the front bumper's lower valance. Personally, I would not go with a 17 inch wheel because of narrow tire selection. I'd go with 16's or 18's.
