Question 17" or 18"? Stock or AM?

I have a question, and you guys have been real helpful before, thought I'd try again. My tires are getting low. I have the stock set-up with the 2.5" leveling kit and a 3" block waiting to be installed. Anyways, tires are almost done for, need new ones. I want to buy the new BFG T/A KM2 . I want a set of 35" tires. Question: Should I buy the tires for a 17" rim? or an 18" rim? I currently have the stock factory plain jane 17" rims on and I have the money to buy the tires, and throw them on the stock rims. OR I can continue to save and wait until I have enough money for a nice 18" rim (not sure how long) ? What would you guys do? Buy for 17"? then save up while I'm running them to buy a nicer 17" rim? If anyone has a pic of those 17" rims with some nobby tires on it would be a great help in deciding. Thanks ahead of time everyone.

I would go 17''. Get your tires now, it will look good on the stockers, you will save a good deal of money by buying 17's over 18's and personally I like more tire. Make sure whatever you do, when you buy the new rims you are careful, check out pawpaw's setup.....otherwise you will have major rubbing issues.

I would too go stockers like hawgman said. Also, given the setup, maybe a 285/70/17 tire black sides out, or 295/70/17 if available in that tire. It looks nice this way and lots cheaper.

You can fit a 35" tire on the stock 17" wheels and maybe get a slight rub when turning on the control arm, but to turn these tires it's better to have the 5.4 engine and 3.73 gears or lower. I would also check out the Toyo 295x70x17 MT, the 305x70x17 Maxxis buckshots or bighorns or the Nitto Terra Grappler in a 295 or 305x70x17. Once you see the new BFG mud terrains it's kind of hard to change your mind though, nice lookin' tires. Good luck!

Ya, i am pretty set on either the Nitto Mud Grapplers, or the BFG km2. The Toyo's are awesome looking tires, and from what I hear, they perform great, but everyone and their mother has one. A couple people on my block alone have a set... so I want something else. Haven't looked much into the others, like you said, once your set its hard to change. plus I am looking for a real aggresive off-road tire since my truck uses its 4x4 on a regular basis (PawPaw, I think you have a good point. I didn't even think about the power loss issue, I may run 33" tires for that reason alone, i will look into those other tires you mentioned) . Anyways, thanks a lot guys, I appreciate the opinions, and u convinced me to get the tires, then wait for rims later down the road. Its the way i was leaning, and u just helped, thanks! Once the Dynopro A/T (crap tire) wears out, i will get the new tires and post em on here. Again, thanks
