I have had my 2000 5.4 V8 xlt F150 for 18 months now and recently gave it a full service.
I ordered some new pads for the front brakes but when they arived they were far to big to fit the calipers. When I asked the supplier why, he guaranteed me that they were the correct pads for a 2000 F150 and that my calipers can not be origonal equipment as suppiled by Ford.
My calipers are Bosch and the supplier told me that Ford did not fit Bosch calipers to the F150's

can anyone help me determine if this is the case?

I live in England and there are very very few F150's here so no one to ask even the Ford dealer has never even worked on an F150 so cant help me.

 

Ford sure did and does still from my understanding. They might have sent ones for the 7700 series or something. Guaranteed you have the same as me so you're supplier is full of (your choice word here please). I ordered from Carquest via a local store, BMD711 was the part number if I'm not mistaken. Try someone else, better luck to ya!

 

Well after trawling the net I get the impression that they have sent me the wrong pads.
Incase anyone can shed any more light on this matter, what they sent me was Duralast gold DG702. any ideas what these are for????

 

Bosch has been supplying calipers for F150's since the early 90's. And I have been working at Bosch much longer than that. LOL

I went back to the supplier armed with facts and they are now going to send me the correct pads.
Bit of a costly mistake for them as they will now have to send me the correct set of pads from the USA to the UK. It also works out too expensive for them to collect the wrong set that they sent me originally so I get to keep them too.

So anyone who wants a set of pads for a truck over 7700lb then if you want to pay the postage there yours.
