98 F150 Front Brake Issue

I have a 1998 F150 and the drivers side front brake seems to be locking up/ not releasing. As i stop it pulls to the left, when i drive down the highway it will make the whole truck vibrate like mad, than it will go away after a few miles, just lightly tap on the brakes and it will come back, the rotor is turning blue from the heat, and when i touch the wheel (aluminum) it's burning to the touch, the passenger side is not. Anyone else have this problem before, planing on new rotors and pads, but i'm wondering if i have a caliper problem, brake piston not releasing issue. Anyone got some info for me??

thanks,
Donk

i had the same problem on my 97. luckily i was only going around 15 mph when it locked. i took off the caliper, took some rough grit sandpaper and just went over the pins a few times.then i flushed and refilled the fluid, regreased the pins with a good high temp grease. i never had a problem since. that was about 5k miles ago so... if yours locked on the highway then yea probably need to replace some stuff.

yep, collapsed brake lines are real common. no better way to wreck a brand new brake job. they allow fluid into the caliper but wont let it back out when you let off the pedal so they drag and everything overheats. i replace mine with every brake job, theyre cheap enough that its not worth guessing.
