06 f150 SCrew, how big on factory rims/susp?

Hello,
I bought a used 06 SCrew FX4 recently. I am looking for new tires The vehicle has original suspension, no lift, no level. It has the OEM 20" wheels with the pirelli tires. They have about 39000 miles on them are are ready to be replaced. I have read a bunch of threads here and am a little confused. How big can I go without a leveling kit or lift? It is a road driver mostly, but when I do get off road, I get OFF ROAD. I don't want to have to trim anything, and even a little rubbing on control arm etc is too much for me.

I love the truck. It has MagnaFlow true dual with 15" chrome tips and an AF1 intake. I still considering the Troyer Tunes, but am looking into tires now. Tire noise doesn't bother me, besides, I doubt I could hear it over the exhaust, intake, or stereo noise.

Thanks again for letting me pick the collective brain of F150onlin forums!

Joel

I suggest you toss on a Autospring 2" or 2.5" (that's what I have on my '06 FX4) Then you can run 33's with stock wheels or aftermarket or maybe some 35's with stock wheels. You'll love the look. The AS kits are less than $100 to! Check out my gallery for more pics.

You can run 33's with the stock 20's, I have a set on my 07 now and it is not lifted/leveled (305/55/20). The 305 mm wide tire does cause very minor rubbing at full lock. The height of the 33 is not even close to rubbing anything, its the width, the 305 is a 12" wide tire so what ever you get stay under 12" wide if you are going to use the factory
20's and you will not have a problem. I have to really try to make my tires rub, its not an issue at all. I think Nitto makes the Terra Grappler in a 285/65/20 which works out to be 34.5"x11.2".

I have 305/50/20's on my '06 SCREW. No rubbing, no level kit. The 50 series tire provides the clearance you need to avoid any rubbing (vice, the 55 series). It's still a 12" wide tire, but the slightly smaller diameter apparently does help with the clearance issue.

I'd go with some 305/55-20 BFG AT KO's, Nitto Terra Grapplers, Toyo AT's or Pro COmp Xtreme AT's.
