price of bfg's

I have contacted some local tire dealers and priced a set of 285x70x17 at/ko for my truck. does $900 out the door seem a little high?
That's mounting ,balancing, new stems, get rid of old tires

That's sounds pretty good, Tirerack has the blackwall for $195 a tire and the raised white letter for $215.

Try discount tire, they will beat any price around. But what are they charging a tire? and I know that discount will rotate them for free for the life of the tire.

$900 dosen't sound too bad, I paid $800 last year for some 285x70x17 Toyo AT's total out the door and the BFG's were more expensive than the Toyo's even back then.

I just bought those same tires at my local Costco. 215 for the tire, 10 to mount and balance and 2.50 for the state tire disposal fee....227.50 out the door. That may seem a bit higher than some of the mail order, but you get the road hazard program included, where the other guys are chargin between 25 and 50 per tire for road hazard protection. not to mention, free rotate and rebalance for the life of the tires.

p.s. mine were the raised white letter...cheaper for blackwall
