285/65/18 or 305/65/18?

Im a little torn over which BFG A/T KO size to put on my stock FX4 18's. I know that they both have their pro's and con's, price versus looks, but Im just not sure. Any advice on the subject? Thanks.

Pics of both tires on a similar ride would be greatly appreciated also.

If you dont, you will kick yourself in the *** for not going bigger. I would also get a autospring 2.5" leveling kit with the 305s.

Depends on what you want to do, if you put a leveling kit i'd go with the 305's if you don't plan on putting a leveling kit i'd stick with the 285's. I have a 2wd with the leveling kit and went with the 285/65/18. I'll look around and see if I can find some pics for you.

2" A.S. with the 305's is plenty. I've had both the 305's and the 285's and I recommend the 305's for you.. If you are against a leveling kit that only leaves the 285's then..

Go Big or Go Home. Get the Autospring 2,5" Leveling kit and then do the 305's.

yeah i was in the same boat as you but deiceded to ordered 17" with nitto 295 (33.19) since its almost same cost bfg 305!

295 nitto $170 + 17" Mojave teflon rims $140 = 305 cost

I am now strongly considering the 275/70/18 Cooper Disco S/T's or the Courser C/T's as a option. Still wider than stock 275/65/18 and about 1.5 inches taller than stock. Any advice on either of these tires for the application?

I had a post about both these tires not to long ago.

I had the 305's put on and they rubbed a little when I turned right or left. Also they they were touching my mud guards as well.

I don't want to take the mud guards off, so the I am going with the 285/65/R18's for my 05 4X2 and I have a 2" AS lift kit on the front.

Here's that thread.

Also, remember the bigger the tire the more it will hurt your MPG's.

Good luck with your decision.

I will post some pics today when i find out how. I have a 3in truxxs leveling kit and 1.5in autospring block in the rear.(couldn't wait for 2.5 autospring because new tires had to go on before holidays) I had the BFG 305AT.Go with the 305/65/18
This may work
Hope you get some ideas for your truck https://www.f150online.com/galleries...cfm?gnum=10299

Go with the 305's if you plan to level the truck. It'll look sharp!!
