Lightweight wheels

I see all kinds of wheels, some pretty, some not, but I know some of them out there are significantly lighter than the factory aluminum wheels. I got 17" wheels and would like to know how light of wheels can I go to so I can reduce the overall weight of the tire/wheel combo. Don't really care for the looks as long as they are not gaudy or girly. My tire size is 265/70R17 so I would like to stick to that same outside diameter and play around with the wheel diameter and see what tires I can get to fit and leave my final drive ratio alone as much as I can. Any ideas?

Most aftermarket wheels are pretty heavy, especially 20 to 24's. If you are looking for something light, Centerline has a line of forged wheels that are pretty light.

Great!! Thanks for the brand name, will give them a looksee!

I know larger wheels are heavier than smaller wheels but what I dont know is when you go larger, and reduce the tire material at the same time, would the overall tire/wheel combo get lighter or heavier? I am sure there is a happy medium in there for weight of tire, weight of wheel, air pressure, yadda yadda.
