4x2 wheel clearance?

07 XL 8' bed, 3" rear shackle drop, leveled look, stock P235-70/R17, 7.5" OEM steel rims.

Will P285-70/R17 tires fit with absolutely no rubbing, lock to lock or under full suspension compression?

PS - My rims are labeled 7.5J - What does the "J" stand for?

If you replaced the drop shackles with the oem shackles and install a 2 or 2.5 inch leveling kit to lift the front they would clear easily.

So, if I left the drop as is (because I like it that way) would 265s fit?

I thought for sure 285s would.

Both will probably fit. I just think 285's will look too stuffed.
