question about rim width

maybe a dumb one, but i just got terra grapplers 285 75 17's put on my stock rims which i believe are 7.5. the height of my truck is perfect now, if not a little low, but if i go with a 17 x 9 rim, will it effect the height of the truck due to the tire being "stretched" 1.5 inches?

Good question really

I think the diameter will stay almost the same since that will not change. Now I bet the squish may be a little more but if you stay within the rim width specs of the tire you shouldn't notice any real change at all.

Does Nitto have specs for the tire online showing what rim width is reccommended?

yeah, that tire is approved for 7.5 to 9 inch rims. so i would assume that nothing drastic will change.

There won't be enough difference in height to notice.
