Wheel size and looks?

I have 17" stockers on my '05 and am looking at the MM951's in black with the BFG AT KO 285 70's. My question is how much of a difference if any does rim size make in the overall appearance. Obviously the more rim, the less rubber, but will the BFG's look good on 17" 951's

That size wheel and tire ought to look great and fill up the well's nicely on your 4x2.

It's just personal preference.

More rim diameter gives it a more new edge-modern look. Matched with some aggressive tires makes an attractive package.

I have an 04 4x2 Screw (white) and was entertaining the idea of new wheels, possibly the MM951's in black. I like the bigger rim w/ aggressive tread look as well. Any ideas/pics of what wheel/tire size combinations to look into???

If you like the big wheel look, I'd suggest adding a 2.5 inch Autospring leveling kit and some 305/55-20 (33x12.50) BFG AT KO's, Nitto Terra Grapplers or Toyo AT's. A 20x9 wheel with 5.5 or 6 inches of backspacing would work best.

Would 5.5 or 6 inches of backspacing be too much and possibly be more prone to rub ??

I would personally go with an 18" or 20" wheel.

I like the look of 20" wheels with a 35" M/T tire - See my gallery for mire pics.

Sorry...got confused with backspacing there for a moment..all clear now..thanks wandell.

I was thinking too much..wondering how wide of a tire you could mount on a 9 " wide wheel with 6" of backspacing before it may rub the spindle ? if that would ever be a problem ? since some EOM tires are only about 9.5" wide

I believe we have one member with 325's on 18x10 Mickey Thompson wheels and they have 6 inches of backspacing. I have 305's on my 22x9.5's with 6.7 inches of backspacing.
