Need Help Finding A Tire
Need Help Finding A Tire
Im looking for an agressive looking A/T tire that will fit 22's for my 05 SCREW 4X4. Im putting a leveling kit on, so I can fit at least 33s. I dont want to look of a small tire on a big truck, or low profile tires on a 4X4. I want something agressive and functional. Any suggestions?
Thanks

I have 33 inch tires (305/45-22) on my stock Expy. I just think that is too low profile for an "off road" look. I think 33' on 18's or 20's would look much better on a 4x4.
Also, the Toyo MT is one of the best mud tires available. The Mud Grappler performs well also, but is extremely loud and wears out quickly.

Would 35s be better? I want to go 22s but I want it to look agressive. I dont want to go bigger than 35s with it being a daily driver.

So I have the OEM 20's on right now with I believe and they are 31 inches from top to bottom. I would like to have more of an off-road appearance with more tire, if I go up to 33's would that give me a noticeable amount of more tire showing, or would it be better off getting 18's with 33's. Thanks

So I had someone tell me that I could do 35's with just a leveling kit, do you think that would be nice or better with the 33's? If that's the case, would 35's look better with 20 inch or 18 inch wheels? Thanks for the input

The tire shop that I got them from ordered me a set of the 35x12.50's and the 33x12.50's in case the 35's rubbed too much. The 33's were not much noticably larger than the stock 275/55/20 Pirelli's (31.9") so I was really glad that the 35's fit. They were much more aggressive looking, but barely larger.
I really like the look of the 35's on a 20" wheel. The 33x12.50 R20's look too low profile for an off-road tire in my opinion. If you can only fit 33's, then go with an 18" wheel. If you can fit the 35's, then go with a 20" wheel.
Check my gallery for more pics of my set up.

As a general rule on the new 4x4's, with a leveling kit, you can fit 35's with the oem wheels or 33's with aftermarket wheels. As you can see, there are exceptions to every rule. Ameration fit 35's by using an aftermarket wheel close to the oem wheels width and backspacing. Wheel size is personal preference. I think 33's look great on 18's. 35's look great on 18's or 20's personally.
