TPMS effected when upgrading tires on OEM wheels??
I did the search and came up with zip on it.
My new 07 has the 18" XTR chrome clad wheels, and I think I'd keep them and not mess with the TPMS bands. The tires I have are ok, but I'd like to add a levelling kit and new, more agressive tires.
But here's the question.
Will the bands be ok if I JUST swap the rubber for aftermarket ones, such as Toyo MT's (prob 33's)?
The bands shouldn't be messed with if you're ONLY just changing the tire, right?
Should I get the dealer to change the tires rather than the tire shop?

I have the TPMS on my KR. The day my truck came in is the day I took off the factory tires and put on 305/65/18 BFG KO's on. I have never had a problem with the sensors. My dealer did the swap for me.
Your TPMS should be okay. ONly problem you may have is if the tires you take off are load range C and you put a P series tire on that has to run at a lower pressure. If the lower pressure is lower than the low pressure setting for the LR C tires, the TPMS will giv the warning. I believe that can be reset, but may have to be done by Ford.
