Good cheap Mud Tires.

Hey guys. I am a working teenager who works on farms in my local area. And i currently have A/T's but i am spinning more than gripping. I am looking for a durable but reasonable priced mud tire. I was looking at the Pro Comp M/T and the Trxus by Interco. Is there another brand. Oh and I am going to be running 285/75/16's no lift

i would look at buckshot maxis mudders, good tire for the price, i have them in 285/70/17 and love em, havent had them on long enough to tell ya about wear but everyone says they get good wear on them and they do good offroad in my experiences, i got them at a decent price from my local tire guy, they should be very affordable for you since you have 16 in wheels, im 16 so i know how ya feel

yeah those are two great choices, if you have a Sam's Club locally you can get the Dunlop's pretty cheap and Sam's is a great place to buy tires. The Buckshots are also a very good tire for the price. Check out the price on some Hankook RT03 as well, thats what I got in the 285/70/17, and for a 16'' rim you could probly get them a bit cheaper......

Another vote for Buckshots. Great tire for the price. My buddy had some on his truck for ~45k. He just got a new set of 285's for $500.

Everyone I've met said the Dunlop's wear out fast. Usually about 30k.

I like my Dunlop's on my '85 Ranger, I got them used so I don't know how many miles are on them but I have put about 5000 miles on them and haven't noticed any wear. These little things are not afraid to tear up the terra firma, I really like them and only wish they were bigger (darn 235/75-15's) I will look into the Cooper SST when these wear out, I love their looks but haven't found a price on them yet. For no more than I drive it I won't be on the market for quite awhile.

Also some farm stores sell a Widetrack Baja MT's, if you catch them on sale you can them them for buy 3 get the 4th free. I got the AT's for my F-150 and really like them, 20k miles and 70% life left in them. I got a set of 4 255/70-16's for about $300, I got a cut in the sidewall on one a year after I got it and got another new one for $30 (the amount of life I used before it died) so at least the store I got them at stands behind their product. I got mine at a Orchelen's store if it helps any.

Go with the buckshots or mud brutes.

I'd take a look at the maxxis bighorns too. I have them in 305's and they do awesome in mud. Haven't let me down yet. They have a better sidewall too.

I dont know if they are still available but. I had a set of centenial mud campaigners on an 96 f150 I used to have. They were very knobby and had farther space between lugs than anything other than super swampers in my opinion. I have owned probably every brand of mud tire,Mickys, superswampers, bfg, dunlops, and these were my favorite. especially the price. I got them at discount tire about 5 years ago in a 35-12.50-15 for about 130 bucks. go generic. I will from now on. The difference isnt worth the money to me anymore. I also got 50 thousand miles out of them. I take care of my tires though.
