I need some straight up answers

I am looking a putting a set of Eagle Alloy 064 18x10 chrome rims on my 2006 f150 xlt 4x4. Probably go with a 285 or 305 for tires, not sure yet.

1. How will the Eagle Alloy's hold up in winter/salt? I am from MN and we do still get snow occasionally here.
2. How about the same question for on a gravel road? I do a fair amount of driving on gravel, live 1.5 miles down gravel. Will this do anything to the rims other than make them dirty as hell and possibly chip them a bit?
3. Am I ok with the 10" wide rims? If I go with a 305/65 for example and a 2" or 2.5" leveling kit, should be ok, correct?

I was gonna get some Maxx 6's that are 9" wide but these rims cost a bit less and are available from a local tire shop. I prefer not to do any major purchasing over the internet so it has to be a local deal and there's not much around these parts. Any input appreciated!

Thanks,

You'll probably have some major rubbing with a 10" wide rim and only a leveling kit. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think it will even come close to working without severe rubbing and/or the tire sticking out about 3-4" past the fenders depending on the backspacing.

You can make it work with a 10" wheel on 305 that is a 33" tire. It will just require some cutting. I would stick with a 9" wheel your tires are going to be sticking out to far.

I agree, you will probably have to do some trimming with the Eagle wheels because I think they only have about 4.5 inches of backspacing, which means they will stick out 3.5 inches farther than the oem wheels (7.5 inches wide with 5.5 inches of backspacing).
