Pulsating Brakes Help!

04 SCREW Lariat 47k on it. Replaced the front pads within the past 10k plenty left of those and about 20% left on the rear. When im coming to a stop all the time now it feels like the brakes are pulsating/surging kind of like if the rotors would be warped? I dont know much about mechanical things but what should I do? Some one told me to replace all the brake pads and all four rotors and go with heavy duty equipment... Is this true? what kind of brake pads and rotors should I be looking for? Thanks for anyones help!

Problem is warped rotors, usually casued by heat and uneven torque on the lugnuts. You probably will not have to replace the pads, but you will have to turn or replace the rotors. Rotors can be turned, as long as it does not go below minimum thickness when done. As you probably have 50+k on the vehicle, since you had to replace the pads, I would personally just replace the rotors. Replacing pads is up to you.
Make sure when you rotate tires, have any work done where the wheels are removed that you torque the lug nuts to spec (150 ft lbs). This will probably eliminate you ever having warped rotors again.

I am getting that same sensation braking of a plusing as I am slowing down after I replaced my front brakes too about 6 months ago. However I went ahead and bought new front rotors.

Havent checked the back replace the back brakes yet they still looked ok on the pads when I last rotated the tires.

Any additional thoughts what could be happening. Sorry didnt mean to hijack the post either..

As far as never having warped rotors again... good luck with that one. Warping is caused as you say but I wouldn't say that he won't have warping issues ever again if he torques the lugs down... Rotors warp more often than not due to heat.

Also, when you work the rear brakes keep in mind about your e-brake shoes. When you pull the rotors to either replace or turn... check to see if the shoes are in need of replacing and that they are still able to freely engage and disengage.

I started using a torque wrench in '93. Since then I have never had to replace or turn a rotor due to any warp. May not be never, but it has been a good run so far.

Even had a heat problem where the rotor was actually blue from the heat due to a caliper that wasn't freeing up. The rotors, even though they had to be replaced, had not showed signs of warp.
