in case to 305 vs 285 questionn's not answered: the look with 305s would be so much better (more aggressive). seems like sidewall height has more affect on MPG (any thoughts?) i think the mileage difference would be minimal (if you noticed it at all).

The 305's look like a perfect fit on the stock 18" wheels. They look great on a leveled 4x4.

i was told that 285 65 18 BFG ATKO is not really actual at 32.7, its almost right at 32.5 to 32.2".
can any one please use tape measure to measure your 285 to see whats actual size tire is?

Thanks!

Thumbs up

ok, section width is 10 1/2 at mid height, 9 5/16 tread width, and exactly 33inches in diameter after 4k miles and at 37psi. Hope it makes your decision a little easier.

i want to clarify my measurements, in case you measure from the ground as ive seen some people do. The actual tire diameter is measured at axle height and across the tire.
Actual top of my tire is NOT 33" from the ground. But my set is a true 33" diameter.
Before anyone tells you differently that they "only measure 32 or sumthin".
I am surrounded by specs. with a tire business in the family.

PS, anybody got any actual measurements on their 305's ? I might go that route after my 285's wear out and I would probably go with a small lift or level kit.

Well, it look like that i cant get BFG 285.

I went to some local store and some of them said its HARD to get it and most of them are $265-279 each so i decided to get 17" rims with 33" for SAME amounts.

I think i ll go for Nitto 295 70 17 with Either ATX mojava 17x9 or Pro Comp (black) 7089 17x9 4.75" BS w/ -6mm.

Thank you all!
