ABS Unit wont turn off

I went to move my 00 F150 7700 today and the ABS unit sounds like its still on. I had to unplug it to turn it off. Has anyone run into this and if so, whats the fix?

Thanks!

I would assume that you will have to replace it. They are kind of pricey little units if I remember correctly.

It doesnt hurt anything to run with the light on. Just means you wont have anti-lock brakes incase you have to come to a hard quick emergency type stop.

It almost HAS to be a stuck relay. Check your owner's manual for the fuse block map & find the 2 relays for the ABS. With everything connected normally (& the pump running abnormally), pull each of the 2 relays to find out which makes the motor stop. Swap a working relay (like the horn) into that position & see if it behaves normally. If so, just pick up another relay at a junkyard, parts store, or even Wal-Mart.

If neither relay stops the motor, you have a wiring problem. If the working (horn) relay also makes the motor run, you have a wiring or ABS module problem.
