goodyear wrangler mt/r

anyone know if the wrangler mt/r is noisy on the street? i know that they come factory on jeeps and i spend most of my time on pavement with some occasional off roading. i was also concidering the bf goodrich all terrain ko not the mud terrains as my bud had them and they are way too noisy

they are a mud terrain and will be somewhat noisy to a degree..the noise levels increase as the tires wear since mud terrains dont always wear evenly..if you want quiet i would look at the nitto terra grappler, the bf goodrich all terrain, the trxus STS, and the toyo open country A/t, especially if you dont offroad much

They are not too noisy but they do wear fast. 20-25,000 is all I can get out of them. I'm on my 3rd set...(none f150 truck)

If you think the BFG AT KO's are noisy, (if I'm reading your statement correctly) you need to stay away from any mud tire.

i would say dont bey goodyear tires. the sidewall is to soft. go some were and push on the side wall of a goodyear vs a bfg. you will buy the bfg

actually the Wrangler MT/R now has Durawall sidewall technology read up a bit on it, they are very puncture resistant..........

I got well over 40,000 on a set a few years back. I was doing a lot of creek running and farming at the time. The sidewalls are anything but weak. Mine went through a lot of rocks and roots over the time I had them. If I was still off-roading like I was then, I would have another set in a minute. I've had many sets of mud tires over the years and the mt/r was hands down the best compromise tire I ever owned. By compromise I mean you could carry on a conversation while driving on pavement, decent traction in rain and snow, have the smooth radial ride, and not wear them out in less than 20,000 miles. They are louder as they get worn. Mine were really loud when I got rid of them. The only tire I've had that compared to them was the bfg mud. The mt/r was a better on-road tire than the bfg imo though. Good luck with your decision.

BFG AT TA KO noisy? Heh, that doesn't make sense. Either the guy never rotated them and caused some terrible wear problem that is creating noise, or something else is wrong with the truck. I ran BFGs on my Ranger for 2+ years and they were AWESOME, and made NO noticeable noise....none.

no he never said he thought the bfg at ko was noisy, he said he thought the bfg mud was noisy... he said he was considering the bfg at ko, not the mud terrain b/c his buddy had them and he thought they were really loud
