Need advice on what size rims to get!!

Well I have some 20's that came on the truck when I bought it. I'm looking to get some new wheels/tires. I just need some advice/opinions on what size to get(i.e. bs?20?18?17?width?) The truck just has a 2.5 leveling kit right now and is a 4x2. Next mod will more than likely just be a 3" body lift. As far as tire size I'm looking into either 33's(smallest) or 35's(biggest)! I just want to order the right wheel/tire that wont rub and will look nice.

I'd go ahead and install the body lift. I'd then go with a 325/60-18 (33x13.00) tire on an 18x9 inch wheel with 5 to 6 inches of backspacing (depending on how far you want the tire/wheel to stick out). You could also probably fit a 325/65-18 (35x13.00) if you want the wheelwells to be a little more stuffed and don't mind doing a little trimming.

I dont want it to stick out a whole lot. Would I be able to get the 35 in there before the lift?

No, I don't think you will fit 35's without the body lift. If you don't want the tire/wheel sticking out, go with a 9 inch wide wheel with 6 inches of backspacing. Of course, you could go with 20 inch wheels and tires. I mention this because it seems that most 20 wheels have more backspacing than the 17 and 18 inch wheels.

Well just got back from seeing some wheels and tires. The wheels I'm looking into are either the Moto Metal 951's or the KMC XD Hoss series. As far as tires seems like its going to be the Nitto Terra Grapplers. I just to deciede on what size to get either 18's or 20's!!

Wandell,

I like your answer on this. I've got the same set up we're talking about here. 2wd 2.5as 3bl. I want to go down to 17x9, and have my tires stick out around 1.5-2" The mm 951 has a 6" bs +30mm offset and 4.5" bs with -12mm offset. I want to go with 35's, and don't mind the trimming. Which backspacing should I get to pop the tires out?

A 9 inch wide wheel with 4.5 inches of backspacing will stick out 2.5 inche farther than the OEM wheels. A 9 inch wide wheel with 6 inches of backspacing will stick out 1 inch farther than stock.
