4WheelParts. Not a Pleasant Time.

Well I would just like to share with you my experience with 4Wheelparts.com.

On March 29, I TRY to order:
17" mickey classic 2's BS: 4.5, 9 inch rim
305/65/17 Pro Comp Xtreme All Terrain Tires.

About 2 weeks after I order them I get a call from the salesman I spoke to.

"Mike, I'm sorry but I can NOT sell you these tires. They will NOT fit your truck." (Truck is 98 F150 4wd)

"No, They will fit, it is fine." (Coming from a bunch of guys on this forum)

"No they will not it will be incredibly tight."

Okay, So I figured Id get some smaller tires. So I get some 285/70/17 BFG All Terrains on the same rims. Remember this was about 3 weeks after calling him the first time.

Well after a few days to ship out, they send with Old Dominion Freight Line.

About a week ago I get a call from Old Dominion "Your tires are here, come get them" I go to pick them up and what do I find?

4WheelParts forgot to put the box with lug nuts and center caps in with the tires. Whats that mean? 4 tires w/ no ways of mounting them. Awesome.

I call them up and ask them to ship another box with lugnuts and center caps. I called Friday morning, expecting them to be shipped out friday afternoon. Well they get shipped out Monday afternoon instead. I have to ASK him to ship it 3 day ( I figured any business who cares about the customer would ship it overnight since they forgot about it). Not 4WheelParts.

So I get home and check out the tires and rims. Wahoo, there is about a 1 inch scratch of scraped metal on my brand new Mickey Rims. After all this I dont even feel like calling them back and asking for a replacement becasue they will take an extra week. So screw it.

And the BIG part they did wrong. After he called me saying he wouldnt sell me the tires, he already charged my credit card, knowing that he didnt ship out anything, and wasnt planning on it.

My bad experience with 4Wheelparts. I hope you guys have a better experience.

i'm not by any means a big customer, but for the few things i've stopped by for locally, the guys at 4wheelparts were really good

I would get that rim fixed. You should have gotten the big tire. He can't just not sell you the tires YOU want.

That really sucks. I would make sure I got the wheel fixed that is messed up. Also i guess if they didn't want to sell you the wheels and tires that YOU wanted, then I would have gone to someone that would have sold you what YOU wanted.

Man thats the first bad thing I have heard about them. Probably was the actual store you where ordering from not the whole company. From what you wanted to order originally I hope you have a leveling kit or lift of some kind.

i had so much trouble with 4 Wheel Parts. First they wouldnt mount 35's on my truck with a leveling kit. They said they would sell them but i would have to go elsewhere to mount them. So i got a body lift in addition. I was quoted 10 hours of labor. So i drop it off on Thursday expecting to pick it up Saturday. Wrong. I picked my truck up on Wednesday. They dismantled the truck. Then couldnt get one bolt off (which they said they spent 3-4 hours on) so they put it all back together. Then the manager realized it was a stud and not a bolt and they started all over. Then i get it back with all kinds of rattles and the gap guards were on wrong. I took it back, they fixed the rattle, but said there was nothing to do about the gap guard. So i got home cut a piece of it off and bam it was fixed. Im guessing the problem is the store but i refuse to buy anything there again.

Sorry you had a bad experience with 4wp. They have been great to me. I have had 2 jeeps and my screw done there in the last 12 months. The second jeep is an 07 2 door with a 2.5" lift. They said they tried 35s on several 4 doors with no luck. They did my kids 2 door with 35s with no arguements. It worked. i had them do a leveling kit on my 06 screw. At first they said 315/70r17s wouldn't fit with aftermarket rims. I asked them to try it with American Racing Crush 17x8s. They did. It works. They were suprised but never gave me any grief about trying.

I hate to say it but it sounds like you were dealing with the wrong person, not the wrong company. It is there reasonsibility to tell you if they don't think it will fit. But if you are willing to fork out the cash if you are wrong. They shouldn't care.

Oh by the way, one of the stock track bar brackets on my kids 07 jeep broke. Jeep wouldn't fix it because of the lift. 4wp rewelded it and added gussets to strengthen it for FREE!! They also dropped thier price over $400 when I did my screw to match another shops price. Is all this because they are really good guys or because I have spent over $9000 there in 12 months?

The only experience I have had with them is when I was pricing leveling kits. They wanted to charge me over $400 and that did not include alignment! Needless to say, I made a few more calls and got it for a great price....The guys were nice enough, just high$$$

Hey well guess what?

You know how I was waiting for the lugs and center caps to come in the mail?

The center caps are the wrong ones!!!!!!!!

HOW CAN 4WHEELPARTS DO THIS!?!?!?!

Right now I dont know what to do. Call back and complain for the 5th time or just **** it and spend 100 bucks on center caps.

I'm infuriated.

However I did get the wheels and tires on and they look great.

My buddy had the same problem with them sending the wheels and tires without the lugs and caps. I also had a problem when I bought my wheels. They sent me 2 wheels with one backspacing, and 2 wheels with another backspacing. They took care of the problem, but fustrating to say the least.

Thats right if their not doing the install nothing can prevent him from selling them to you. Now if they do and it rubs they have to take it off so their not liable for anything
