305 on stock 17"??

Lookin to buy new Nitto Terras and I have seen and read about guys having a 305/70 on their stock 17" rim. I have read that this size is "recommended" for rims at least 8.0 wide. If I'm correct the stock 17" are 7.5. Will that 0.5 of an inch make a difference? What type of problems if any will you have with this combo? I think the 305 looks alot better than the recommended max 285. Any input would be appreciated. Oh, by the way, I have an '06 Screw 4x4.

new takeoff.com

Has any body bought any tire packages off of them? They are selling stock Arizona beige wheels and BFG long trails for $699. Is this worth it. And has anybody bought off the Ebay sellers for new takeoffs. Same deals as above but with about $50 savings.

I just purchased some 35x12.5x17s from etiresmarket1 on eBay - $307 shipped for the set. They're used, but have decent tread left. Another benefit is the stock H2 tire (315/70/17) is also in the 35" catagory - and eBay is flooded w/ them.

I may be looking at selling my stock 275/65/18 Goodyear AT/S & rims soon. Approx 30K on them, check my gallery if interested.

hawkeye68 - what lift are you running in the picture above?
