Will these fit?

305/65/17

with Mickey Thompson Classic 2's 17x9
4.5" backspacing.

Alright I ordered these exact size Pro Comp Xtreme All-Terrain tires. That same size 305/65/17.

The guy @ 4wheelparts claimed they will not fit my truck, and will not sell them to me.

I dont get it.

 

Yes. You may have to trim a little bit of plastic off the front bumper's lower valance.

Whats wrong?

 

I have considered those exact tires and size. I have seen a number of 97-03 4x4s on this site running that size with no problems. There is even one guy on here that I saw running 17x9 Maxx 6s with 315s. I think that dealers/vendors have to tell you that the tires won't work to protect themselves, but refusing to sell to you is a little extreme. I am looking at a 17x9 with 4.75" and Wandell said that they would work with a 285/70, 305/65, or a 33x12.50. Just call them back and tell them you lifted your truck and your ready to buy.

 

Most shops/warehouses go by fitment charts which are very, very conservative.
