Man good thing I seen this.. I was thinking I was crazy that the front wheels get dirty rather quickly.. within a few days of cleaning.

I have an 07 XLT and will probably upgrade the pads to semi-metallic.

I have a '06 F150 screw 4x4 Lariat that just got changed to Wagner Thermoquiets yesterday. I can't say how well they work quite yet, but the stopping power seems much better. But let me just say that I can't believe Ford would put such cheap brake pads on their trucks like they do. I don't think I've seen anything else going down the road with dirty front rims like a F150, other than the occasional driver who doesn't wash their ride. Don't y'all wonder what else Ford skimped on to save a few bucks? Don't get me wrong, I love my F150. I went from a '97 F150 ext cab Lariat to a '04 ram w/hemi. (always wanted a hemi) It was a great motor in a cocoon of ****.
I wanted a F150 2 months after I got the ram. Should have known better.....
I sure hope the Wagners keep me from having to clean the fronts once a week.

I see many euro cars, BMW's in particular with bad dust problems, Escape's are probably the worst, but it is by no means a "Ford" thing.

I cant emphasize enough how much I would discourage using Kleen Wheels. Although speed was a factor, I saw a vehicle actually catch fire because the rear brakes were not able to cool properly. Sure, they do what they are supposed to, but having to wash my wheels isnt worth the negative effect they pose. Like other posters said, once they are clean and dry, give them a good coat of wax.. Any non-abrasive wax will do. Obviously you want one that will last long so look for somehting durable. Wesley's whitewall cleaner works awesome for cleaning the dust off, but will shorten the life of the wax on the rims. Also, if you apply tire dressing with an applicator instead of spraying it on, the brake dust wont stick to the dressing on the rims.

That's odd I have family that works there. They must be sneeking off somewhere and not going to work.

You would think that... But that does not necessarly relate to the amount of dusting.. On my cobra the rears dust orders of magnitude more then the fronts... now on the truck the fronts are caked after only 700 miles with 3 washes in between.

OK, the original poster asked a simple questions that no one seems to recognize.

Why would the passenger side front side get so much more excessive brake dust than the driver side? Shouldn't they be getting the same amount of excessive brake dust?

He's trying to to find out if there is a problem with his brakes. I'm sure he concedes there is a lot of brake dust and the fronts have more than the rears and all that.

I don't know what the problem could be. It is possible defective pads got put on that side or the caliper is hanging up. I would get it checked out and get new pads.

Ya i even new that.. You dont have to be a rocket scientist to look at the difrence between the break dust of fron and in the back to realize that... But what break pads are you using and what is the easyest way to get break dust off of crome rims.. will it eat through the crome... cause i think i left it site 2 weeks with out washing the rims and think thats whats happening.. wish the guy that sold me the rims would of told me how and what to do to take care of them before i bought them..

I just picked up my new 07 Lariat yesterday, which has a build date of 08/07, and there is a sticker on the windshield that says "Assembled in the Kansas City Plant"

Back to the original question. My '07 also dusts up worse on the right front. Not huge, but definitely a difference. Not that I'm going to complain because whatever does show up is much less than '05 Ranger & my wifes' '05 Escape needed the wheels cleaned daily almost! The new '07 Escape seems to dust up more on the rears?

The right front brake has more dust due to the Coriolis effect.

On mine it has alot more dust on the drivers side. I got sick of the dust and 2 weeks ago I put on CarQuest Blues and they are awesome. When I took the old ones off, they looked like they were worn equal on both sides??? Not sure why one side would be worse than others.

Just a thought, but could it be from the passenger side being closer to the shoulder and in more dirt? Like how that side of your truck that barely fits on the lane of a country road is dirtier than the drivers side... I drive on farm roads to work, and I've noticed more things kicked up, marks on my fenders, and general dirtiness on that side of the truck.. 'Course I guess I should stop watching tv while I'm driving.. lol
