I live in pa and i think the 1079 are polished and i dont think the winter salt will like them. I have chrome wheels and they are easy to take care of. I hope that helps you.

Chrome or teflon coated

I have polished aluminum AR bajas. I washed and waxed them at the beginning of the winter and hosed them off after every major snow storm. Yesterday it still took me two full hours, a bottle of Eagle 1 wheel cleaner, a full can of aluminum polish, half a bottle of car wash detergent, and a ton of scrubbing with a big wheel brush and a tooth brush to make them shine again. I will never get polished aluminum wheels again. You may be tempted cause they're cheaper.

But be prepared to work on them every week to keep them looking good and spend ALOT of time restoring them if you don't get around to it for more than a month or two. Winters will be hell on polished aluminum wheels. On top of normal brake dust you'll get road salt backed into the aluminum surface and pitting. In fact even when I was thoroughly washing mine every few weeks during the warmer months there was always minor pitting in some of the holes and crevices that I had to scrape away.
