problem

ok i got a problem. my truck started making this noise when i was coming from sanantonio. ok when im driving my breaks start squeeking not like a squeel when u break, but when u keep rubbing 2 metals together. has any of u guys had thid problem? or what do u think it is? i thing its the rotors. and my father in law told me its my breaks cuz i changed them like for a while and i bought some cheap *** break pads they where $20 at advanced auto parts. how lond do u change ur break pads n rotors? ok now i read that some girl went to a shop with the same problem n the mechanic said it was a bad caliper. im so confused. how much does a break check cost with a mechanic?

well thanks

Whoa,,, that hurt my head to read that. To answer your question, most brake shops will check them and give an estimate for free. But they do expect to get the work when they do so. Some places have been known to deem a vehicle unsafe to drive untill the work gets done (Monroe).

Post Grinding?

Sounds like you got for what you paid. Usually cheap pads will last 25 to 30K if you are lucky. Anyway, going to a brake shop only increases the revenue of the owner. They will try to sell you winshield washer if they can.
