what you think 285/60/18

I have an 05 F150 4 x 4. if I get the Moto Metal 951 with the 4.5" backspacing on a 9" wheel. And run a 285/60/18 will I need to us a leveling kit? Does anyone have this size of tire on a similar wheel with a leveling kit? I have searched and I only found 1 set of pictures of this set up but could not tell if the tires looked too small or not due to the lighting.

If I were to level I only want to go with the 2". That is why I do not want to go with a 325/60 tire, it will probably run too much.

Please give me your input.

thank you,

I am also going to go with the 2" AS leveling kit as I do tow and haul some heavy items, which makes the 2.5" to high. However, I plan on going with the MM 956 in an 18X9 with a 30mm offset. This is about 5.2" of backspace. I plan on using a 325/60/18 Nitto tire. From the research I have found this should not be a problem in terms of rubbing with a 04 - 07 4X4. I was originally looking at the 285/65/18 tire, but going for the larger tire for height and width. The large tire on this set up should stick out about 2" or so. Guys correct me if I am wrong with my statements. Cheers!!

30mm offset on a 9" wide wheel is around 6+" of backspacing. You really won't stick out much, if any, past the fender and should fit nicely.

Dkstone: Why compromise? You're picking a small tire with a nice wheel just because of the backspacing. You can get the MM 951 in around 6" of backspacing and use a larger tire, up to the 325/60-18 if you want.

I realy don't care for MM's with the 6" BS, I like the lip/dish but 4.5" is border line too much for me. Also I realy don't care about trying to fit the largest tire I just want something that is going to look good and smaller tire = less cost and alittle less strain on the suspension. Just not sure if it will fit without a level kit and if not I'm willing to do a 2" but not sure if the tire size will look too small then?

thanks
