I want... I need gears i have 3.73's in my 05. just dont know were to get them and how much they run $. looking to get4.56's

 

Glad you've decided on 4.56's

If your a 4x4 your looking at $1100-$1500 depending one gears used and where it is installed.

4x2 is usally around $500-600

 

I've got a few prices for 4.56 front/rear the prices were from $1250-$1500

 

wow.... thats a little more then i thought but its something i need forsure!! are gears something i could try and install my self or should go to a professional....... oh and yes my truck is 4x4!

 

I would leave this to the pro's. If they are not aligned and set-up PERFECT you will get a whine from the gears and they will wear out super fast.

 

it does cost some $ to do gears, but it really is something left to someone who has done it before, it takes some tools that your everyday mech might not have, bearing press, micromiter and a magnetic baclash dail indicator. good luck it is best to save up and have a reputable shop do the work.

 

I just got my gears today, from randys ring and pinion "yukon gears" they were $415.00 for both sets in 4.88's and a guy who runs mud drags here is a good friend and charges $175.00 to install both sets and will warranty labor for a year. Even at the dealership where I work they only charge $200.00 each diff. So I'd check around for some prices first. I got these for my 36's
