R ABS problem test OK but not dump feeling

Hi I have a F150 97 and I just checked my RABSII module and I get code 16, normal operation , which means no problem. But I don't feel the vibration on brake pedal when Rear weels are blocked!! Has somebody any Idea where to work in for solving this problem? It seams that RAB module is ok and sensor is ok but RABS Valve is not working.

Thanks for your help!!

Mauro

Huh?
I don't understand what you are trying to do.

You have blocked rear tires?

Do you have 4 wheel or rear wheel only ABS? RABSII should be rear only.

These are some test procedures for RABSII:

A Code 16-System OKay--This code should be used by a technician to verify system is okay. If Keep Alive Memory (KAM) fuse is blown Yellow light will flash Code 16 or another trouble code is set. Check KAM fuse when diagnosing complaints of Yellow light flashing

Even with a code 16 you should still preform a 10MPH wet (winshield wipers off) and a 20MPH dry ABS threshold stop test with no residual pusations for at least 10 seconds after a full stop. There should be ABS pulsations in both tests.

After these threshold stops if the pedal doesn't pulse you should try and pull trouble codes again. If the KAM fuse is blown you won't ever get any other code than 16.

If the Solenoid in the valve is not working properly you will get a Code 5,7 or 8.

Hi Man,

Sorry I did not explain well the problem.

First I get Trouble code from my RABS module (Rear ABS only) and I found my sensor wires where cut. I replace them and RABS trouble code change from CODE 9 (Open Speed sensor problem) to CODE 16 (normal).

So I take a road and tried to test my ABS system. And the results were:

No ABS pulsation on Brake pedal.
Rear weels blocked and slipping without any ABS action.

So my conclusions are:

No fuse problem. Trouble code changes and sensor is now OK.

Where should I work on now??? RABS2 valve??

Thanks
Mauro

When you turn on the truck it does a self diagnosis of the solonoid for the ABS valve. It is working if you do not get another error code.

Blocking the rear tires will not trigger the RABS system.....I guess I don't get what blocking the rear tires is supposed to achieve.

It needs to be driven to be tested. The threshold breaking should reveal if the RABS is working.
