I have a 2004 F-150 SuperCrew FX4. It has the 18" wheels. My brother has a 2005 F-150 extended cab with the 17" wheels. I'm going to purchase new wheels and tires. I'd like to give him my wheels and tires just for looks on his truck. If we tried to swap wheels and tires, would they fit each others truck? ie, lug nut pattern, etc.?

yeah the bolt pattern's the same 6x135. I guess the question would be whether or not the tire size you have would rub or not on his truck.

 

eThe 05 wheels will fit on the 04, but at some pont in 05, they started using a larger brake caliper. Some 04 wheels do not fit on the 05 and up. I think you will have to try it to be sure. Possibly Wandell can validate or correct me. He knows all about wheels and tires.

 

yeah but he is putting his 18's on his bro's '05 and he is buying new ones. It'll work that way. He is putting a larger wheel on the '05 not vice versa.

yep.

 

The OEM wheels will interchange. It's some aftermarket 17 inch wheels that won't fit over the brakes on the late production and newer trucks.
