bleeding brakes

bleeding brakes

do you bleed brakes with the engine running or pump them up with engine off?some people say on ,some say off

engine off

I've always had good luck bleeding them with the engine off. Much safer that way too. Fluid shoots out with less pressure, no moving engine parts or hot exhaust.

do it with it off. you want all the air out of that master cylinder and booster.

Off. Don't forget to keep refilling the master cylinder as you go.
