Unhappy Rotors Gone on 04 F150

35k miles - time to put on new brake pads. ROTORS are WARPED and have to be replaced. My mechanic says this is unfortunately normal and that most of the newer trucks are lucky to be getting 20k miles on a set of rotors.
Have not been towing with this truck - normal highway and in-town driving only.

Anyone else had this pricey experience???

It really is not not that expensive if you do it youself. A good set of pads run around $45 bucks and rotors for my 01 was $35ea. So you will have around $120.00 in it instead of paying someone a couple hundred bucks.

same for me. 30k miles. i had the rotors reground when the pads were installed. seem to be holding up in thr 6k since. thinner rotor walls, so likely wont get 30k out of then again...

I put new pads and rotors on the front of my at about 50,000. According to the shop that did it, the rotors don't have to wear much to be out of spec and the newer pad compounds are harder on the rotor than the pad. On the up side, the new rotors and pads have completely eliminated the brake dust problem of the stock pads and rotors.

mine were shot at 50k. the pads were too worn by 40k but I kept going so I ended up having to get new rotors as well.
