Best rotor/pad upgrade for stock front brakes??

I need to get some new rotors and pads soon. Is there any upgrade I can do to make the truck stop better? I need to stick with the stock rotor size.

A whole Brembo kit would help, but a couple grand is hard to swallow. Plus you'd need bigger rims, like 18" minimum. My suggestion is to get Carquest branded Raybestos made pads, the "blue" colored ones and the better offering of the 2 rotors. I have been extremely happy with mine, no noise, almost no dust and what seems like better performance. Paying better attention while driving is the best answer

I agree with Blue. Your not going to be able to get any real noticable stopping performance without spending a lot of dough. I just did my front pads and rotors and got NAPA's highest-end offering for my truck for the pads (90 bucks) and the more expensive of the two choices of rotors (about 60 bucks each). I couldn't be happier and it beats spending an easy 500 to have a shop put on the cheap crap.

I've had good luck with Hawk HPS pads ($70), but htey aren't exactly dust-free.

I currently have Brembo rotors - non-drilled, non-slotted - and I think they're about $70 each.

Decent stopping power & pedal feel for a heavy truck.

I ordered a set of cross-drilled, slotted rotors and brake pads from summit for about 200 bucks. Money well spent!

I went with the Brembo rotors from Tire rack which are basically OE replacement, but I did upgrade on the pads with EBC Greenstuff. They are hands down better than the stock pads, with less dust. I think I got mine from wholesalepartswarehouse.com for about $55.00.

I use Bendix pads (with titanium facing). They stop really good!
