adapter problem

adapter problem

just installed 2" adapters on the truck. now there is a vibration and at 40mph it wants to rip the wheel out of my hand. i have torqued everything down but the problem is still there. has anyone had this problem before?

Do you mean wheel bolt pattern adaptors? Sounds like that is the problem. One or more of them must have a defect.

Id take all the wheels off and check the spacer. I put 2" Spacers on mine and was 1 lug away from loosing the front passanger tire. then i almost lost the front driver tire.

The lugs keep backing out. So i used lock tite on them and problem has been solved for the mean time.

What year and model do you have?

03 fx4 with the washer style lugs that the spacers say i shouldnt use, any idea why?

i will re tighten everything tomorrow to see if it helps. but like i said the spacers say no asher style lugs, i dont know why that is.

Mine said the same thing.

i bought all new lug nuts for the spacer and wheel. Then i put blue locktight on them.

They dont seem to be moving now. If they come loose now i wont be putting them back on.

You can see inside the spacer that conical lug nuts are needed but the wheel still needs washer type nuts.
