99 f150 rear brakes sticking

99 f150 rear brakes sticking

my rear bakes are slow to release(sticking) after i come to a complete stop and start to go again. i had new drums, shoes and new hardware kit put in, two weeks ago. worked fine but now its back to the way it was. any ideas ? thanks.

Do you use the e-brake??

ive used the ebrake maybe twice since ive had the truck

check the tensioner on the ebrake. It should be pretty tight, people that dont use it have more problems with it. B.c the cable stretches over time, and the ebrake gets lazy and start rubbing. And on a drum brake set up, the same pads are utilized for the ebrake i believe. try making sure the cable is tight, should be just under the gas tank filler neck by the frame rail.

btw i use mine everytime i park my truck, both as an insurance to not have it roll away if trans give out, also to prevent damage to the teeth on the "park" gear. those wear out over time, especially if you park on a hill, and let it roll back when its in park.
