How Big on '06 STX?

I have an '06 STX with the stock 17-inch rims, that came with 255/65/17 tires. I want to go as large as possible with mud style tires without rubbing or causing probs.
any thoughts or recommendations? the stock size just looks too small for my taste and there seems to be loads of room in the wheel well.
thanks!

Do you have a 4x4 or 4x2?

it's totally for 4 x 2...i just like the look of meatier mud tires.
i was hoping to get 33's on there, but don't know if they'd rub or if the rim is too skinny (i think tall skinny tires are goofy looking).
thx

If you add a 2 or 2.5 inch leveling kit you can fit 285/70-17's (33x11.50) on your OEM wheels. WIthout a leveling kit you can probably fit a 265/70-17 (32x10.50).

It's basically a spacer that lifts the front suspension to level the truck. Autospring, Daystar and Skyjacker are popular brands. As for tires, I'd recommend the BFG AT KO, Nitto Terra Grappler or Toyo Open Country AT.

Sorry, I missed the part about wanting a MT. I'd suggest the BFG MT KM, Goodyear MTR or Toyo Open Country MT. You might also consider the Mickey Thompson Baja Radial MTZ.
